Into the Matrix:

Unearthing Black Futures

Into the Matrix: Unearthing Black Futures is an immersive multimedia experience that allows for the contemplation of a tangible afrofuturistic tomorrow.

Centralized around three precious ores—silver, gold, and obsidian—this artistic endeavor merges the world of science fiction and Black liberation.

Through the use of photography, videography, and custom projections at two locations— this multimedia installation highlights the theme of Afrofuturism.

What is Afrofuturism?

Afrofuturism is  a  cultural aesthetic,  philosophy of science, and philosophy of history that explores the developing intersection of African diaspora culture with technology, imagination, future,  and liberation.

It emerges as a guide to push society and civilization into a full future of Black empowerment.

It allows for artists to reimagine themselves and create whole new worlds that are deeply rooted in African traditions and Black identity.

A Future Without Limits.
